The club AGM  takes place on March 22nd and your management committee are keen to see members stepping forward and helping to run the club either as a member of one of the standing committees, the management committee or in any other way to match their own skills and interests.

Succession is key to the future success and prosperity of any club, the Royal Torbay Yacht Club is no exception. We do need new and younger members to join our committees as those who have served for many years begin to step away or reduce their commitment.

The Committees were expanded at last year’s AGM, at the Management Committee’s request, to help spread the load of running club, and to allow more people the exposure of what is required to become a future officer of the club.

This year will see an additional vacancy on each of the standing committees (Sailing, House and Social) meaning 4 elected members, in the case of the Sailing Committee one of these shall be the Motorboat and Cruising Captain.

We then have 4 members elected to the Management Committee each year, 3 of which will be appointed to the 3 standing committee’s according to their interests. It is the wish of the management committee that the fourth member, new this year, will take on Membership lead role.

In addition to the committee roles there are many other way in which you can help the club, if you don’t have the time for a nominated role but still want to get involved, please do drop a note into the office admin@rtyc.org

Please do start to think about whether you could be interested in taking on a role as the AGM will be coming up soon. If you want to know more, you are welcome to make contact with me commodore@rtyc.org or one of the current officers.
