DESCRIPTION:Book your tickets by calling the Office on 01803 292006 \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The RYA Safety Boat course is a 2-day programme designed for confident powerboat drivers (must be over 18) who want to expand their skills beyond basic boat handling. Building on your existing knowledge\, you will gain the competence to manage safety cover for fleets of dinghies\, windsurfers\, canoes\, kayaks and other craft. \nDelivered by experienced powerboat instructor\, this course equips you with the skills to deal with a variety of on-water situations\, from towing broken-down craft to managing rescues in challenging conditions. It is also a required qualification for those working towards becoming an RYA Senior Instructor. \nWhat to expect \n\nDinghy rescue techniques\nWindsurfer rescue\nCanoe and kayak rescue (may be taught as theory)\nTowing methods and best practice\nEnd-of-day procedures and recovery\nChoosing suitable craft and equipment\nLocal factors and effective communication\n\n\nPreparation and safety checks\n\nCourse pre-requisites: Powerboat Level 2 Certificate \nCourse duration: 2 days \nMinimum age: 18 years \nTrainee : Instructor ratio: 1:6 \nProvided with the course: RYA Safety Boat Handbook. Light refreshments \nYou will need: Writing materials\, appropriate clothing\, buoyancy aid or life jacket (will need to conform to standards)(we have limited number to loan so please get in touch if you need one) \, sun-screen\, packed lunch. \nMember Price £150 \nNon Member Price £250 \nTraining courses are subject to last minute cancellation due to weather\, low uptake\, or unforeseen circumstances.
