Essential Navigation and Seamanship offers a great introduction to navigation and safety awareness for new or inexperienced skippers and crew, and those wanting
to refresh their skills. It also works well complementing the sea-based
RYA Competent Crew course, or as a precursor to the RYA Day Skipper course. A highly informative course with many opportunities for you to put your newfound knowledge into practice in exercises during the course.

- Safety
- Engine checks
- Buoyage
- Tidal awareness
- Visual and electronic navigation
- Rules of the road
- Anchoring
- Weather forecasts
- Pilotage
- Passage planning
Course pre-requisites: None
Minimum age: 16 years
Course duration: 16 hours

Provided with the course: RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship pack and light refreshments
You will need: Writing materials (incl. 2B pencils)
