The South West coastline of Devon, Dorset and Cornwall is renowned as one of the most beautiful and popular cruising areas in the country, with the Channel Islands, the Isles of Scilly and coasts of Normandy and Brittany all within comfortable cruising range for both sailors and motorboaters.  The club is keen to encourage members to take full advantage of the many cruising opportunities from our wonderful base in Torquay.

An exciting and welcoming group open to all club members. This enthusiastic and well-supported section of the club includes members who own a Motorboats and Yacht and welcomes members not owning a boat. There is a full annual calendar of events, offering many activities such as cruising in company with overnight stays, day trips, beach BBQs and other club events such as meetings, talks and functions. A warm friendly welcome awaits you and advice is always available from likeminded boat owners.

The group is an integral part of the Royal Torbay Yacht Club are always keen to welcome prospective new members to both the club and  group whatever your boating interests. All are encouraged to participate in the club social, on the water activities and the comprehensive RYA training courses offered by the club (see Pages 37 & 39)

The attractive harbours and estuaries of Teignmouth, Exmouth, Lyme Regis, and Weymouth to the East and Dartmouth, Salcombe, Plymouth, Fowey and Falmouth to the West, are all within comfortable cruising range. These popular destinations have a wide appeal to sailors and motorboaters alike and are perfect for members in their early cruising days.
